History of creation

February 24, 2022. This day is etched in the memory of every Ukrainian. Confusion, panic, fear, despair – emotions that overwhelmed many ordinary people. Those who had the desire, strength and opportunity left for the west, but many people remained in Kyiv, a city that was planned to be captured in 3 days. Shops, supermarkets, pharmacies were closed and the threat of a humanitarian crisis loomed over the capital. Unfortunately, many of those who remained – low-income people with children, pensioners, disabled people – were left face-to-face with the war without means of livelihood. Observing this, we could not sit idly by and decided to help – to help ordinary people, to help the military, to help our state win victories.

It was painful to watch the children, who were frightened by the sounds of explosions, the sight of military equipment and the wail of an air raid siren. First of all, I wanted to support and reassure them, because the children were not supposed to see this at all. That’s why we started to act.

Men took families, children, and pensioners out of shelling to safer places, risking their lives, and built shelters. The girls found products and prepared food, got medicines, clothes and provided for those who suffered from the Russian invasion, provided assistance to newborns at the Institute of Pediatrics of PAG. Someone was in other cities and made purchases of necessary things, someone provided a ride to Kyiv, and someone was already engaged in direct address delivery. It was not easy – many roadblocks, people with weapons, a curfew complicated this process, but, fortunately, Ukrainians are a nation that unites in difficult times and shows its best qualities: humanity, courage, friendship, tenacity. It was thanks to this that we succeeded in everything.
At first, everything was done with personal money, then, due to a lack of own funds, a collection was carried out for relatives and friends. But the number of needy people was constantly growing, and funds were running out. There was a need to find additional resources from benefactors and charitable foundations.

In the opinion of most people, people in Kyiv no longer need help, since the hardest part is now in the Eastern direction. But this is not the case, since the economic situation in Kyiv is difficult – high unemployment, rising prices for goods and services, and an increase in the number of immigrants. Entrepreneurs who previously supported low-income families are currently unable to help them, as they themselves have encountered difficulties, and the number of people left without means of livelihood is only increasing. Therefore, we continue the struggle on our front and continue to support the needy. But we need help. On the website, you will find information about the directions of our activities, learn how you can help or how to get help, see photo reports and be able to become part of our movement and bring victory closer, and the greatest victory is the preservation of our humanity. The only thing that is needed now from each of us is to carry a ray of light in a world of darkness.
